2019 Election:7 politicians Atiku could settle for as VP [SEE LISTS]

Atiku Abubakar

Atiku Abubakar is running for president in 2019. Who are his possible VPs?

Now that we know Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will run for the position of president yet again (at the fifth time of asking), maybe it’s time he began the search for a Vice Presidential pick.
They are a lot of chaps out there who’ll want to have their names on the same ticket with Atiku, but we’ve narrowed down the choices to just seven, thank you.
Here Are The List From Naijasimple.com:
1. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso:
Sanata ya kai agaji ga wadanda rikici ya shafa
A former Governor of Kano State and serving Senator.
Kwankwaso may be battle weary after engaging his successor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in a supremacy contest for longer than is necessary, but he’ll fancy another challenge alongside Atiku.
Kwankwaso contested the APC presidential ticket at the primary in Lagos in 2014 and was ahead of Atiku when the votes were tallied.
He’s got plenty of clout, instant name recognition and political nous to go with his combative style.
A Muslim-Muslim ticket is always frowned at in Nigeria. Kwankwaso is also from the North where Atiku hails. These may be huge drawbacks, but Atiku will probably have him on the shortlist.
Atiku has to contend with Kwankwaso’s out-sized ego, however, but he’ll complement the former Veepee very well.
2. Ayo Fayose:
Fayose a filln idi
If Atiku defects to the PDP, Fayose could be his man.
The Ekiti State Governor has an eye on Aso Rock, with his governorship term elapsing pretty soon.
He’s also been canvassing for the position of president like forever.
Positives here are that Fayose hails from the Southwest and is Christian. Atiku won't mind a loud campaigner on his team too.
But will the nation want another Yoruba Vice President soon after Yemi Osinbajo?
3. Ike Ekweremadu:
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu
The Deputy Senate President loves a challenge and the prospect of sharing tent with Atiku while battling the APC on the other side of the divide, will be too tempting to turn down.
The Southeast of Nigeria has screamed marginalisation forever and handing the region a Vice Presidential candidate may just be a masterstroke from Atiku’s camp.
4. Godswill Akpabio:
Senator Godswill Akpabio

He knows how to talk a big game, splash the cash and ruffle feathers. Plus, his politics can be pretty dirty.
Atiku needs this Senator and former Governor to be his Veepee if he defects to the opposition PDP.
The South-South and Southeast could rally behind this joint ticket. That’s two regions for the price of one.
Go figure.
5. Jimi Agbaje:
Jimi Agbaje
He’s in political wilderness at the moment. A string of governorship losses can do that to a 'good' man.
Atiku may hail from the North, but he’s still a Lagos boy at heart. He loves the Southwest a lot and spends his free time in Lagos.
Should he defect to the PDP like everyone suspects he’ll eventually do, he should tap up Agbaje who won’t mind one bit.
After all, Jimi Agbaje "is not one of them".
6. Musiliu Obanikoro:
Musiliu Obanikoro
It’s still unclear if Obanikoro has defected to the APC from the PDP, but hey, who cares at this point?
Either way, he’s been putting himself on the shop window even after a stint behind bars for alleged corruption.
Obanikoro rolls with the Bola Tinubu camp these days but political allegiances in Nigeria can be darn fickle, you won't see the switch coming.
Put a phone call across, Atiku.
7. Dino Melaye
Sen Dino Melaye
Kogi State is sometimes neither South nor North, depending on the politician looking.
Melaye has plenty of troubles on his plate right now, not least a possible recall from his constituents, but he could add something to an Atiku ticket--and he'll love it!

Melaye has gone against the present APC set-up on numerous occasions and you can tell he'll love to be on the other side someday. Atiku can make his wish come true.
He's armed with bags of energy, dance steps, 'youthful' exuberance and annoying songs on his lips.
Atiku be like--say no more.
